Rules for Staying Safe Online
- Protect Your Personal Information
Never share personal details like your full name, address, phone number, school name, or passwords with anyone online.
- Be Careful What You Share
Think before you post photos, videos, or messages. Once something is online, it can be hard to remove.
- Talk to a Trusted Adult
If someone says or does something online that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or confused, tell a parent, teacher, or another trusted adult immediately.
- Keep Your Accounts Private
Use privacy settings to control who can see your information and interact with you online.
- Don’t Talk to Strangers
Never respond to messages from people you don’t know or accept friend requests from strangers.
- Think Before You Click
Avoid clicking on links or downloading files from unknown sources—they could contain harmful viruses or scams.
- Use Strong Passwords
Create passwords that are hard to guess and never share them with anyone except your parents or guardians.
- Stay Kind and Respectful
Treat others the way you want to be treated. Don’t engage in bullying or mean behavior online.
- Limit Your Screen Time
Balance your time online with offline activities like playing outside, reading, or spending time with family and friends.
Ask for Help
If you’re unsure about something online, ask a trusted adult for guidance.
